We are proposing multiple high-tech projects. The current project aims to implement scalable multi-media digital platforms to create an ecosystem of the US green energy consumption among citizens and stakeholders via citizen participation, co-creation, and open innovation.

Such an ecosystem is based on appropriately forecasting the legitimacy of such green energy consumption trends, carefully defining and creating a platform of spaces for participants and curating engaging citizen/stakeholder systems. Digital platforms will allow an active cognitive and emotional exchange of ideas among stakeholders about the subject of the US green energy consumption.

The design of these platforms aims to create an interdependent and interactive digital participatory environment. Such an ecosystem includes “climate” forecasting--the determination of the legitimacy status of the green energy consumption; “soil” elements—the platform features that allow citizens and stakeholders to experience a sense of belonging; and smooth “energy flow” elements—the strong stakeholder engagement and data system that facilitates smooth activity participation and communication via a citizen’s/shareholder’s device. The platform design follows the innovative conceptual framework and concepts – the identification of regulative, normative or cultural/social cognitive legitimacy stage of the US green energy consumption; the creation of spatial spaces in the platforms--physical, psychological and symbolic; and the citizen/stakeholder engagement system with green citizen credit rewards and a team formation, games-based incentive engagement mechanism.

The platforms are expected to: (1) help legitimate the transformation of the US green energy consumption from a governmental/central call (regulative legitimacy) to spontaneous citizen participation (normative/cultural/social cognitive legitimacy); (2) create a feeling of ownership and engagement (from physical to psychological and symbolic) through citizen deliberation and participation via the “boundless” digital platforms across the country; (3) stimulate enthusiasm and trust among citizens using the influence of social group interaction in the platforms; (4) create a free-flow green community of citizen participation, co-creation and open innovation with innovative incentive credit rewards and team formation systems. These digital platforms are expected to be implemented gradually with a large spectrum of social groups across US and to be adapted to all levels of literacy, numeracy and problem-solving skills.
